Interesting question. In the word <bucca>, for example, the
traditional spelling in dialect is invariably <cc>. I think Nance
spelt it <kk>. Is this a loan word, or is it not. I fancy that
Cornish <bucca> and Welsh <pwca> rather pre-date English <puck> which
would, therefore, be the borrowed word.
KK proposed the awful (and utterly unprecedented) spelling <boekka>,
even though the traditional pronunciation of <bucca> never remotely
resembled the recommended KK pronunciation(s) of <oe>.
