Could this be a fifth group, where <ÿ>/<ë> is short?

<ÿgery> ~ <ëgery>
<edhën> ~ <edhÿn> which could also be <ÿdhÿn> ~ <ëdhÿn>, etc.

Do we need another symbol for the short form?
Is it schwa?
