Of course, we need not restrict ourselves to nans or valy.  Luckily, 
Cornish is quite rich in its vocabulary, so we have the following

glyn:  large valley
islonk:  chasm, abyss
keynans:  ravine
lonk:  gully
pans:  hollow
stras:  flat-bottomed valley
tenow:  valley, tributary valley
