To whom do they "look better"? Not to me. <oe> does occur in toponyms  
in such words but not in the texts. To me poes goen froeth are utterly  
unacceptable.
Froeth/frooth is controversial for another reason. The word is never  
attested as such; it is a respelling from a single instance of <fruit>  
in the OCV. The ordinary word for 'fruit' in Cornish is frut, which is  
attested 46 times.
