In which case, don't use ŵ or ŷ for your language.

All the same, there are an awful lot of fonts which do have ŵ - it doesn't seem to cause any great problems for Welsh.

Go to Myfonts.com. Type "modern" or any other word you like in the search box. It will show you how many fonts have been tagged with that word. There are 2618 "modern" fonts there. There are 628 tagged with "artistic"; there are 2104 tagged with "handwriting".

You can paste â ê î ô û ŵ ŷ into the Sample Text box, and you will see how very few fonts have ŵ and ŷ.
