Sorry Craig. I really don't mean to offend. Please forgive. 
Your opinion in this small matter is, I believe, slightly off.
Payment occurs once in PA and four times in BM. It was the ordinary word for 'payment'
Talas didn't exist then. It's an invention and if we are resuscitating a language we have to take it as we find it,
not as we wish it had been.
