Only insofar as the form which is to be revived had an orthography
which directly indicated the pronunciation -- in which case it could
only be authentically revived if both the orthography and the
pronunciation were kept.

If, on the other hand, the same sound was occasionally written with
different spellings, and/or the same letter(s) occasionally stood for
different sounds, then pronunciation and orthography might be related
but are not directly and closely linked in the sense that I would
expect from "two sides of the same coin".
