Although I haven't yet seen the full results, it's been a fiasco just as feared.  

You might all remember the initial sheet which was circulated.  It included the <au> issue.  That, apparently, was missing from the later Excel spread sheet, so the Review never even discussed it.

Nev Meek has taken it up with the Review Board chairman only to be told that it's a "pronunciation issue" not an orthographical one.  I ask you………
The Signage Panel has been using <au> in archaic personal names (Austol, Maugan, etc.), and it's likely that we'll continue to derogate in these instances.
