Portalan (in 1288), is said to mean Porth Alen - where the Alen is the
River Camel's name between Trecarne and the estuary (Craig). However, I
cannot reconcile the location of Portholland in Caerhays on the south coast
with the Camel on the north coast.

Some help?

Regards

Herbie
