Does anyone agree that Kernow is almost universally mispronounced?

I hear "ker" (often with the R omitted, Home Counties style) + "noe" (often rounded to 'posh' English standard).

I'm sure it should be:  KAIR-nau.  (here the -ow would be like an American's pronunciation of -ou- in "thought")
