Gwell Kernowek garow ès Kernowek marow 'Rough Cornish is better than dead Cornish'.

The Irish version is Is fearr Gaeilge bhriste ná Béarla cliste 'Broken Irish is better than clever English'. Notice that bhriste is lenited after the feminine noun Gaeilge.
