A gowetha-oll,
Dreadful news – and much fellow feeling as a diabetic patient myself.

Sad news. I'm sure we all wish him well.

An update on Clive.
As some of you will know, Clive's diabetic condition had got so bad that he had to have his lower left leg removed, from below the knee. He had the operation on Thursday and came through it well. By yesterday, he was able to talk on the phone, though understandably feeling weak and tired.
It is thought that his right foot might be saved from amputation as it's responding well to revised treatment. Meanwhile, rehabilitation exercises have already commenced.
In time, he'll be issued with a wheelchair and an artificial leg, but the important thing is that his thoughts remain positive.
