Now that St Pirans' Day is with us once more, I find the various awkward ways of expressing the day in Cornish as somewhat uncomfortable.

Some write : Degol Piran; or Dy' Gool Piran, others Gool (or Goel) Pyran, and there are few other varieties as well.

What's wrong with standardising this in accordance with traditional practice as:  <Golperan>.  A nice neat solution that slots into existing practice as shown below.

We have the precedents of:  Golowan, Golstefan, and even the place-name Goldsithney (Golsydhni), while the standard form of the saint's name in place-names and dedication records is :  Peran.  (As far as I can tell, <Pyran> seems to be unattested).
<gool>, as a prefix, would necessarily shorten to Gol-, thus doing away with the dreaded <-oo->, that is so disliked by many.
