I have to agree, the illustrations are sublime!

my own history with JRR is long and Ive read all of his works in the middle earth series plus many others several times over....in the case of the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings trilogy at least 15 times!
I had the honour of proof reading 'An Hobbys' and it is a remarkable work, maintaining as it does the meaning, dialects and feel of the original. The most astounding for me was the translation of the Elvish and gnomes own songs into Cornish...fabulous fabulous fabulous...I CANNOT RECOMMEND IT TOO MUCH!

Welcome to our group Trevor.

I like you I had never read The Hobbit in English but I was so impressed with An Hobys that I read it twice. Also what a delicious book to own with all the original illustrations.

Greetings all,

My name is Trevor Cox, I live in Medford, Oregon, USA and I am 28 years old.

I have a background in basic Linguistics and am proficient/familiar with IPA notation.

I am currently working my way through Desky Kernowek as well as reading An Hobys (for the first time, never read it in English nor seen the movies... so it will be fun to experience the story in Cornish first without any preconceptions).

My interest in the list is to stay up to date on the development of Cornish orthographic standards. I prefer Kernowek Standard the most.

Good God, good grief, good Cornish beef!
