[Spellyans] Abbreviating Ordinal Numbers

Agreed; I also prefer to omit the suffixed letters in both English and  
Cornish dates.

However, it's worth emphasising that this is merely a matter of  
personal preference or style, as it would be in Cornish. Others may  
wish to make different choices, and they'd be none the worse for that!
