For ‘ascend’the glossary gives yskynna, 'skydnya. This is mistaken. Skydnya means ‘descend’: mehall yskydnyow eall splan hellowgh adam gans cletha dan hay wreage mes a baradice ‘Michael, descend, bright angel, drive Adam with a sword and his wife out of paradise’ CW 964-66 [spoken by the Father in Heaven] "
Nicholas is correct that /yskynna/ can be translated as 'descend'. However /yskynna/ also translates as 'ascend' or 'mount'.
 *1* • ascend
"then nef grasses yskynne"
'you would ascend to heaven'
[Origo Mundi: 156]
"a le-na yth yskynnaf | yn ban bys yn glascor nef
'From that place I will ascend up even to the kingdom of heaven'
[Resurrexio Domini: 2401-2]
 *2* •mount [a horse/donkey]
"parys yu an stede gay | yn weth an courser melyn | kefrys hakney ha palfray | ynmons yn nobyl aray | arluth pan vynny yskyn"
'Ready is the gay steed, also the yellow courser; likewise hackney and palfrey are in noble array; Lord, when you will, mount'
[Origo Mundi: 1964-8]
"otte an asen gene | han ebel thyso keffrys | war y heyn ragh the eysye | dyllas me a vyn lese | yskyn yn ban mar syw prys"
'Behold the ass with us, and the foal for you also. On her back, for your comfort, I will spread clothes. Mount up if it is time'
[Passio Domini: 218-22]
 *3* •descend
"me an felge adrus then pen | may teffo y ompynnen | ha skynnya avel mottis"
'I will cleave him across the head so that his brains emerge and fall like motes'
[Ton 1504: 1273-5]
"mehall yskydnyow eall splan hellowgh adam gans cletha dan hay wreage mes a baradice"
‘Michael, descend, bright angel, drive Adam with a sword and his wife out of paradise’ [spoken by the Father in Heaven]
[Jordan 1611: 964-66]
