 The Cornish dialect word is elvan 'porphyritic rock', but Nance gives men elven for that and suggests that elven itself means 'spark, atom, element'. 
 I did not really invent dewelvennek (KS dywelvednek) because the Breton for 'amphibian' (substantive) is divelvennat. 
 This is similar to the Irish term débheathach 'creature of two lives > amphibian'.
