I realise this, Neil realises this, I'm quite sure Rod lyons does, too, but the strong differences between RMC and RLC are "historical" and a matter two different revival traditions. This has a lot to do with Nance's conservatism and purism favouring the more archaic and "Celtic" forms over the later forms. This conservatism has largely been carried over into KK and now the SWF/M.
To claim there are no differences is also wrong. While pretty much all features found in LC are already found in MC, they occur more frequently in LC and become markers of this variety. Today the phonology of RLC is different from RMC, there are different dictionaries, coursebooks etc. a different vocabulary and grammar, all in all a different "dialect". This is now fact, whether good or bad, or accurate or not from a diachronic view.
