From the phonetic point of view ath has and ath as would be very close if not identical.
Omission of following h after the particle yth is well attested, e.g.

rag yth evel thy'm bos da 'for it seems good to me' OM 19
yth apyas thy'm gul foly 'I happened to behave foolishly' PC 1438.
